Our main demo space featured a stunning Vertere system, with an RG-1 sitting atop our new STAGE-1 and STAND-1, driven by electronics from FM Acoustics of Switzerland, represented by Vertere in UK. Founded in 1973, this was FM’s first appearance at a UK show – hey, it has only taken 43 years, but it was well worth waiting for!
Marking another milestone, the first record played on the £220k system was ‘The Prayer’ 12” by CAEZAR, which is the debut release from our Vertere Label Release. The new band comprises Joe Donnelly and JJ Gilmour, both former members of The Silencers, and an album is due in 2017.
The 12” was cut by Miles Showell of Abbey Road, and the vinyl pressing, by Optimal Media of Germany, sounds amazing – to register your interest in the record, email firstname.lastname@example.org. (We expect to be shipping copies in early December.)
We also had a further area at the show, where we showcased new cables from our PULSE-HB and D-Fi ranges, as well as gave a sneak peak of our forthcoming phono stage, PHONO-1, due mid-November.
Our personal highlights of the show included the guys from CAEZAR playing live, in our room, immediately after we played the 12” – now that’s what we call a test of realism. And on the Sunday, Miles Showell joined us to give a talk on his innovative half-speed cutting technique – mega interesting stuff.
