Two separate gain stages, pre and post linearisation, afford unparalleled control of signal clarity and detail resolution. A dedicated LF filter moderates wasted energy and headroom from subsonic noise, allowing your analogue source to perform to a whole new level of fine tuned efficiency. And granular impedance and capacitance control means CALON can work in perfect harmony with virtually any MM or MC cartridge you choose to use. Under its non-magnetic stainless steel chassis, two identical, gold plated, four-layer PCBs provide flawless dual mono performance. All this serves to elicit jaw-dropping new levels of dynamics and musical expression.

Technology
Granular gain settings
CALON features two gain stages, one pre-linearisation (default (10dB), +10dB, +20dB) , and one post- RIAA linearisation (In steps of 0dB, +2dB, +4dB, +6dB, +8db), producing previously unachieved levels of clarity, detail resolution and dynamics.
A signature LF filter - Subsonic Cone Flutter Eliminator
A precision low frequency filter eliminates unwanted cone flutter caused by subsonic noise that wastes energy and headroom, allowing your analogue source to perform at a significantly augmented level of efficiency, transparency and definition.
Resistance & Capacitance Control
CALON is user-configurable for operation with MM or MC cartridges, with nine easily adjusted settings for both capacitance and resistance - yielding greater sonic control upon any cartridge you choose to use.
Isolated audio and control circuits
Two identical, gold plated, four-layer PCBs provide flawless dual mono audio performance - for full control of the ground and power impedances, and optimised signal path and ground path flow. Two non-magnetic (Austenitic) Stainless steel internal covers further isolate and shield each Channel’s pure audio section. A separate, gold plated four-layer control circuit means CALON is easy to use, quiet in operation and stable.
Stainless steel chassis & cover
The case is machined from non-magnetic (Austenitic) Stainless steel which brings a high level of shielding without the ferro-magnetic and field hysteresis problems iron or steel could bring.
Aluminium alloy front panel
Optional silver or black anodised aluminium front panel comes adorned with super-polished stainless steel knobs, switches and indicator LEDs. It makes CALON an aesthetically pleasing addition to your system, and ensures setup and operation is a joy.
Dual transformers
CALON features two toroidal transformers on a two-layer, gold plated power supply PCB. The first transformer is dedicated to supplying low-voltage AC - via two HB cables - to the L&R audio boards. The second provides low-voltage AC to the rectification and two dedicated regulated power rails for the logic control, relay and switching board.
High efficiency rectification
Each audio board has high efficiency rectification, utilising premium quality and ‘ultra-quiet’ DC regulation close to the required audio signal circuits - ensuring power recovery remains as stable and rigorously efficient as possible.
Internal Shielding
A ferrous power supply section cover provides the required shielding between the audio boards and the power supply.
