Vertere & Nick Mason - Celebrating 50 Years of The Dark Side of the Moon

2023 marks five decades since the release of one of rock music’s most important and iconic records.

The Dark Side of the Moon was Pink Floyd’s seminal prog-rock masterpiece - a genre-defining achievement, relentless in scope and vision, and one that forever cemented Pink Floyd amongst the pantheon of true rock music greats.

It’s difficult to sum up the sheer and lasting impact of Dark Side of the Moon since its original 1973 release. It sent Pink Floyd’s vast, expansive sound careening into the commercial mainstream - influencing generation after generation of performers and musicians in its wake. Dark Side’s lineage can be traced through artists as diverse as David Bowie, Kraftwerk, Radiohead, Tool and hundreds, maybe even thousands more.

And now, that long lineage is set to continue for many more musical generations to come, with the release of a stunning new 50th Anniversary Box Set Edition of Dark Side of the Moon.

The ultimate collector’s box set

Released on 24th March 2023, The Dark Side of the Moon 50th Anniversary Box Set is an absolute must-own especially for diehard Floyd fans.

Included is a gatefold vinyl of the new 2023 remastered studio album, the CD along with Blu-Ray + DVD audio featuring the original 5.1 mix and remastered stereo versions. The set also includes an additional new Blu-ray disc of Atmos mix, plus LP and CD editions of ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon – Live At Wembley Empire Pool, London, 1974’

If that wasn’t enough, the boxset includes a 160-page hardback photo book, a music book, alongside two replica 7” singles and other memorabilia.

Vertere & Nick Mason - celebrating music history

To celebrate 50 years of rock music history, and the release of the brand new 50th anniversary edition, we sent Pink Floyd’s iconic drummer Nick Mason a unique, custom-built gift.

A newly upgraded custom Vertere MG-1 record player - our trademark turntable - specially adorned with Dark Side of the Moon’s ubiquitous light-splitting prism and Nick’s ‘Saucerful Of Secrets’ band emblem made its way into Nick Mason’s recording studio. Founder and CEO of Vertere, Touraj Moghaddam, was only too happy to make his way down to Nick’s studio for an in-person install of the anniversary MG-1 turntable.

Touraj, and all of us here at Vertere Acoustics, send our heartfelt congratulations to Nick, and all those involved in assembling the 50th Anniversary Box Set edition of The Dark Side of the Moon.

We hope the newly installed 50th anniversary MG-1 will bring Nick as much enjoyment as The Dark Side Of The Moon has brought us in the last 50 years.
